A massive free ‘visual experience’ showcasing an iconic Vancouver architect launches this week

It’s always nice to be out and about and bump into a random piece of public art, but it’s even nicer to know what it’s actually about. A massive new ‘visual experience’ is coming to downtown Vancouver this week. And, it’s celebrating the work of an iconic Vancouver architect. Here’s what to know!

Titled ‘Erickson Revealed’, the installation will be taking over the side of 1075 West Georgia starting this Thursday from 8:30 pm to 10 pm. As you can probably guess, the digital projection will be highlighting the work of Arthur Erickson, aka Vancouver’s most famous architect.

In fact, it was Erickson himself who designed 1075 Canada Place back in the 60s and racked up some serious awards for doing it. His work goes far beyond office buildings though- he’s done everything from academic buildings to apartment complexes and private residences, and that’s just in Metro Vancouver alone!

The 10 minute-long visual experience has been created by none other than Go2 Productions, the people behind the iconic Facade Festival that turned the Vancouver Art Gallery into a giant canvas. The installation can be seen every night from 8:30 PM to 10 PM. So, if you find yourself in the area, make sure to look up!
