Are you ready to try a new Japanese bakery coming to Edmonton? We sure are. A place called Pablo Cheese Tart is gearing up to open its first location in Alberta, and we’re getting it! This spot is specializing in a unique Japanese dish known as a cheese tart. Let’s check it out!
We did a little research, and a cheese tart seems to be a combination between something like a Portuguese egg tart and a cheesecake. The outside pastry is flaky by design, while the filling is like a mix of cheesecake and custard. So, you need to like cheesecake if you’re going to be trying this out.

Selfishly, we absolutely do, so we’re excited to grab one as soon as they’re open. Heck, maybe even a couple, since they’ve got a whole range of flavours from matcha to tiramisu. They’re slated to open later this spring, so we’ll keep an eye out for an opening date.
In the meanwhile, we’re going to dream of delicious Japanese baked goods.
