If you’re planning ahead for your summer outdoor adventures get ready to hear this. Vancouver Island’s West Coast Trail is reopening to overnight hikers as early as June. And you can start making reservations in April!
In case you’re unfamiliar, The West Coast Trail is a 75-kilometre trail that takes about a week and is a must for many BC outdoors people. But chances are if you’re into the outdoors you’re well aware of this trail. And you’ll know that the trail was closed last summer due to the pandemic.

So if you’re planning a trip to the trail this summer you can start making your reservations on April 30th. At that time you’ll be able to book a trip during the window of June 4th to September 30th. And you can book online or by phone, the choice is up to you!
While BC is vaccinating many residents, COVID-19 is still very much a threat. So with that in mind, if you’re planning on going to Vancouver Island we ask that you remain aware of the risk that you may pose to smaller communities.
