That little bit of snow last night got us pretty excited about winter activities and one of our favorites has to be sledding. But we don’t exactly get enough snow in the city to enjoy a day full of sledding, but there are places nearby! Here are 8 places to go sledding in and around Seattle.

Hyak Sno-Park

This park is near Snoqualmie and is surprisingly free. But not 100% free because you need a Sno-Park day permit to park in the parking lot and a Discover Pass to get in. That being said, it’s a pretty great low-cost place to sled. However, the hills can get icy and will occasionally close due to that factor so be sure to check the website before getting your pass.

Where: Snoqualmie Pass
Cost: Free/Parking Pass & Discover Pass

Summit at Snoqualmie

You can do more than ski at everyone’s favorite mountain. But this sledding spot isn’t exactly cheap and it’s not open for the season yet. That being said, it is one of the larger spots with 20 lanes and a designated chair lift. So if you want to just be able to relax and enjoy your sledding, this might be the spot for you.

Where: 1001 WA-906 The Summit at Snoqualmie, Snoqualmie Pass, WA
Cost: $12 for kids, $35 for adults

Hurricane Ridge Tube Run

If you want to hit the slopes for some fun and spectacular views then you should head to Hurricane Ridge. Plus tubes are provided so you just need to bring yourself and some warm gear. But be sure to check conditions before you go by checking online or calling 360-565-3131.

Where: Hurricane Ridge Rd, Port Angeles, WA
Cost: $15 per car to enter park, $14 per hour sledding

Mount Rainier

Now if we had to pick one place on this list to go sledding it would absolutely be at Mount Rainier. After all, what’s better than having some winter fun at our state’s most iconic mountain. Plus it’s free but before you go be sure to check park closures and road conditions.

Where: Mount Rainier National Park
Cost: Free/ $30 fee to enter the park

Leavenworth’s Ski Hill

Everyone’s favorite Bavarian town also happens to have a little ski hill and tube park. So if you’re planning to head out to get in the holiday mood you’re in luck as the tubing park is actually open! Plus this is another spot where you don’t have to worry about bringing your own sled.

Where: Leavenworth, WA
Cost: $20 for a 90-minute session

White Pass

If you’re to the South or planning to head towards mount Rainier you can also check out White Pass. Now be warned this is pretty far, around 3 hours. But if you’re looking to really get out of the house then it might just be worth it. Plus it’s pretty affordable.

Where: 48935 US Hwy 12, Naches, WA
Cost: $10 for ages 8 and under or $13 for ages 9 and up

Echo Valley

And while we’re on the topic of getting out of the city you can also try Echo Valley. Now, this spot is about 3.5 hours to the East of Seattle so it’s no small drive. But the good news is that it happens to be one of the most affordable spots on the list because tube rental is included in the pass price. So if you already live on the Eastside, this might just be the spot to head to.

Where: 1700 Cooper Gulch Rd, Manson, WA
Cost: $15 for a full day pass or $10 for a half-day pass

Lake Wenatchee Sno-Park

And finally, we have another sno-park to add to the list because free is good. This one is located a bit further to the East but still isn’t too far away to visit. Just remember to check conditions and park availability before you head out. And be sure to check out other parts of the park before you leave for the day.

Where: Lake Wenatchee State Park
Cost: Cost: Free/Parking Pass & Discover Pass

Well folks that’s what we have for you when it comes to places to go sledding in and around Seattle. And as a reminder be sure to wear your masks and double-check all tubing areas online or by phone before heading out. After all, you don’t want to get all the way out there to find out they’re closed due to the weather. So with that, have fun, be safe, and enjoy the sledding!JTNDZGl2JTIwaWQlM0QlMjJtb2JpbGUtYWQtb25seSUyMiUzRSUwQSUzQyUyMS0tJTIwU2VhdHRsZSUyMC0lMjBNb2JpbGUlMjAtLSUzRSUwQSUzQ2lucyUyMGNsYXNzJTNEJTIyYWRzYnlnb29nbGUlMjIlMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjBzdHlsZSUzRCUyMmRpc3BsYXklM0FibG9jayUzQndpZHRoJTNBMzIwcHglM0JoZWlnaHQlM0E1MHB4JTNCJTIyJTBBJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwZGF0YS1hZC1jbGllbnQlM0QlMjJjYS1wdWItNTUyMTg1Njk1NTQ5NzQ1NiUyMiUwQSUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMGRhdGEtYWQtc2xvdCUzRCUyMjE2MjcxNzI5NDclMjIlM0UlM0MlMkZpbnMlM0UlMEElM0MlMkZkaXYlM0U=
