With so many events making a major return this year, Summer in YYC is shaping up to be one you won’t soon forget. This July, among all of the Stampede craziness, music lovers are encouraged to kick off their boots in exchange for some dancing sneaks, because The Calgary Badlands Music Festival is back for 2022 and their first headliners were just announced!

Bringing us a little Closer, electronic-pop duo the Chainsmokers will take to the stage as part of the city’s 10-day celebration of sun, fun, beats, and booze.

This of course will not be the first time that they’ve participated in the festival though. In addition to Machine Gun Kelly, Tiesto, Gord Bamford, and Tim Hicks, the Chainsmokers have headlined Badlands in previous years.

Sadly, this is the only act that’s been confirmed so far – but it’s only a matter of time until we get a complete lineup.

Interested in checking them out? Tickets are on sale now and range from $98.36 to $134.96 for general admission plus (which gives you access to a private washroom, so it’s totally worth it.)

As always, we’ll keep you all updated on this as more information comes to light – but get excited Alberta. It’s looking good.
