We’ve talked about upcoming holiday events and where you can see festive lights around Vancouver this season, so naturally – it’s time to get ready for finding the perfect Christmas tree. And with vendors getting ready to open as early as this weekend, now is the ideal time to start planning.

From u-cut tree farms to local tree delivery – here are some of the best places in Metro Vancouver to get a Christmas tree this year.

Not only does Aunt Leah’s have some of the best Christmas tree selections in Vancouver, but they’re also selling them for a good cause! Each year, 100% of the profit of each Christmas tree sold goes toward supporting foster youth who are at risk of homelessness and mothers in need.

When: Opens Thursday, November 24th
Where: 7025 Granville Street

Hunters Garden Centre

This massive garden centre has already got a variety of trees in stock! Choose from a few different options, including fresh-cut trees, flocked trees, and even live trees that can be replanted after their use. You know, if you’ve got the space for it.

Giesbrecht’s Tree Farm

Feel like this is the year you go full Clark Griswold? This tree farm in Langley offers a U-cut tree program, which means you get to work for your tree, and everyone knows that makes it look that much better in your home.

The farm opens for the season on Friday, December 2nd, and will be open from Friday to Sunday from 9 am to 3:30 pm.

When: Opens Friday, December 2nd

Frosty’s Family Tree Farm

That’s not the only Metro Van spot offering u-cut Christmas trees this season! Frosty’s Family Tree Farm will have both u-cut and fresh-cut trees on offer this season, which is great if you get there and decide that hacking down a tree by yourself maybe isn’t the best use of time.

U-cut and fresh-cut options will be available from 9 am to 4:30 pm.

When: Opens Saturday, November 26th
Where: 24488 – 52 Avenue, Langley

Murphy’s Christmas Tree Farm

While this one’s a bit of a trek, it’s every bit worth it. Murphy’s offers visitors an array of u-pick trees to choose from, festive wreaths, and pictures with Santa. Oh, and hot cocoa, coffee, and fresh cider made with apples from their orchard!

When: Saturday, November 26th
Where: 25377 124th Avenue, Maple Ridge

Z&Z Christmas Trees

For something even closer to home, there’s this Richmond farm to check out. They’re turning the Christmas tree search into a full experience, complete with a fire pit, hot cider, and Christmas carols for your soundtrack. There are two locations here- one for fresh-cut, and one for u-cut.

Note that the u-cut farm will be open on weekends only.

Evergrow Christmas Trees

Last but not least, we come to the most interesting (and eco-conscious) option on this list. Evergrow not only delivers a tree right to your door, but it’s packaged so that it’ll stay alive over the holidays. Once those are over, they’ll come and pick up the tree so that they can replant it! Definitely pricier than a u-cut tree, but worth every penny.

When: Now selling
Where: All around Vancouver

And that’s a wrap on Christmas trees for now, Vancouver. We hope this list helps you explore some great new spots this year.
