Calgary is an ever-expanding city with more communities than we can count on our hands. When it comes to choosing a place to live, we are spoiled for choice but this can actually be overwhelming depending on your reason for moving. Obviously, if you just want to be closer to nightlife, downtown will be the place for you… but what if you’re starting a family or are just looking for a change of scenery, then where do you go? In hopes of answering this question, Real Estate site Zolo has actually compiled a list of the 10 best neighbourhoods to rent in Calgary. Let’s jump into it!

From rental price and comparison of cost (rent vs buy), crime rate and nearby amenities, Zolo rated and ranked Calgary’s many districts, giving them a score out of 100.

In the top spot – the northeast neighbourhood of CityScape who with a walk score of 91, transit score of 81 and an average rental cost of $1,186, was given an 80 out of 100.

“It’s hard to find reasons not to rent in this northeast residential neighbourhood.” they wrote. “With our highest walk and transit score, lowest crime rate, close access to the airport for anyone who loves to travel, and one of the most affordable average monthly rent prices, Cityscape is the best neighbourhood for renting in Calgary.”
