There’s nothing quite like finding hidden treasures when you’re walking the beach. While it’s unlikely that you’ll uncover a chest of gold on Washington beaches, there are definitely a few that are notable for finding other goodies. Here are 5 of the best beaches for beachcombing in and around Seattle.
Alki Beach
Let’s keep things local to start. Alki Beach is accessible, nearby, and has plenty of shoreline for you to comb. Due to its past as Luna Park and also as a trash dumping ground, you’re almost guaranteed to find glass. Even if you don’t find anything, you’re sure to enjoy the beach in all its glory.

Discovery Park
This park seriously has everything you could ever need and more. If you venture down to the shoreline near the lighthouse you’ll find plenty of places to beach comb. You can find bones, driftwood, glass, rocks, and all sorts of other goodies. Plus you can explore the park afterward.

Rialto Beach
If you want to go a little bigger, you should consider heading over to the coast. Rialto Beach is a great spot to find quartz, jasper, and even agates. Not to mention you can take in the beauty of the beach’s offshore sea stacks. It’s a sight to see and you’ll probably come home with some beautiful stones.

Kalaloch Beach
If you check out Rialto you might as well check out Kalaloch too. This beach is one of the best spots to find unique pieces of driftwood. You don’t even have to look that hard because there are pieces of wood scattered across the beach. Plus you can check out the beach’s tide pools which are filled with tons of marine life.

Port Townsend
This iconic part of Washington has the beach to rule them all if you’re looking for glass. That beach is appropriately called Glass Beach and is the spot to find beach glass. You have plenty of shoreline to explore and you can also dip into town to see all that the area has to offer.
