If you’re looking for an out-of-the-box activity this week, then we may have found the perfect option. Alongside an ongoing exhibition at the Polygon Gallery, the drag collective HOUSE of RICE is hosting a show there on Thursday night! And better yet, it’s free!

The show has been organized in conjunction with their current exhibition- Interior Infinite. This contemporary group show “showcases artists who work through costume, make-up, and masquerade to more fully express their lived realities”. And naturally, a drag show is a wonderful example of exactly that.

HOUSE of RICE, for those curious, is Vancouver’s ‘Asian Drag Family’. And since its creation, its members have performed at everything from Vancouver Pride to the Vancouver Classical Chinese Garden. However, this marks the collective’s first trip to the Polygon.

Well, second actually, since they put on a show over the weekend as well. The show will take place between 6PM and 8PM, and will take place on both the balcony and the ground floor. What’s more, you’ll be able to check out a pop-up installation from them while you’re there!

So folks, keep this in mind if you’re looking for an amazing mid-week event.
