It’s Seattle’s oldest restaurant so it has to be good right? Well, it is, and Maneki not only serves up delicious sushi but you can also have an unforgettable dining experience in one of their tatami rooms. That being said, they are still operating on a takeout-only basis.

Taneda

If you’re looking for traditional counter-service style sushi then you need to check out Taneda, it’s tucked away in Capitol Hill’s Broadway Alley. Choosing your dishes here is easy as chef Hideaki Taneda only serves up course meals aka omakase. Definitely on the higher end but well worth it for a treat yourself kind of meal.

Okay, so it’s not technically sushi, but Fremont Bowl has some of the best if not the best rice bowls in the city. You can get a delicious chirashi don or opt for a single fish don like salmon. Not to mention their prices are killer and the fish is always fresh. Their bowls are perfect for taking to the park to enjoy your eats with a view.

This Tangletown spot has a menu complete with rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and a whole host of lunch specials. If you want to go a bit bigger they also offer two different omakase menus. So go for a roll or two, or enjoy a whole omakase with friends, whatever you chose you won’t be disappointed.

This Wallingford spot is definitely considered a classic at this point as they’ve been in the sushi game a long time. This has made them one of Seattle’s best spots to grab rolls and bowls. In fact, they’re pretty well recognized as having one of the best Chirashi dons in the city.

This Madison Park spot is definitely on the higher end of sushi spots but it’s a great spot for a special occasion or date night. You can enjoy signature rolls, small plates and of course, their wildly popular omakase that has folks coming back time and time again. They’ve been at it for over 20 years so you can expect to have an unforgettable experience.

Yoroshiku is a modern Izakaya with time-honored recipes. They also happen to have a great selection of seafood with items like chirashi bowls, sashimi, sushi rolls, and more. If you’re looking for options beyond traditional sushi, this is a great choice.

If you’re looking for drinks with a side of sushi, Umi Sake House might be your best bet. The restaurant serves up a wide drink menu as well as a menu with a raw bar and nigiri and sashimi. so have a drink or two and your favorite sushi.

Tamari Bar

Tamari Bar is a great place to get sushi as well as a full Japanese menu full of items like appys, noodles, and bao. When it comes to sushi you can nosh on rolls, chirashi, and sashimi. This spot is also known for its highballs if you’re looking to imbibe a bit.

Mashiko

Not only is Mashiko tasty but they’re also committed to sustainability which not every restaurant can say. In this day and age, sustainability is super important as we need fish to enjoy sushi! The resulting dishes are high quality, delicious, and sure to have you coming back for more.

As the name suggests, Aburiya is all about bento boxes making their meals one of the most Instagrammable on the list. Beyond the food’s incredibly photogenic nature it’s also delicious and conveniently located near Pike Place. So enjoy your eats and wander around the waterfront after.

2018 James Beard Award semifinalist chef Taichi Kitamura runs this delicious spot on Eastlake. He serves up a mix of rolls, nigiri, sashimi, sushi combos, and omakase. A dinner or lunch here is a sure win and a great spot to enjoy with friends or for a big night out.
