A pop-up art gallery has landed in Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood this month, featuring more than 250 original pieces by Western Canadian artists. Art on 9th is back in a temporary gallery space in Inglewood, where you can browse the newest collection, learn about the artists and even purchase a piece to take home.

Here’s what to know before you visit, including what you’ll find inside and when you can stop by.

What to expect at Art on 9th pop-up

What is Art on 9th?

According to organizers, Art on 9th is a pop-up gallery that was founded by Calgary artist Michele Holland a decade ago. Holland first opened a gallery on 9th Avenue, creating a space to showcase original artwork by Western Canadian artists and make art feel more approachable.

Since then, she has moved away from a permanent location and taken Art on 9th into a pop-up format, setting up in different spaces around Inglewood.

What can I see at the pop-up?

The pop-up is running throughout November and will feature more than 250 original pieces by 26 Western Canadian artists. The collection features a range of styles and formats, from small-scale artwork to larger pieces.

And if something catches your eye while you’re browsing, the artwork is available for purchase, so you can take home a piece by one of the featured artists.

When can I visit the gallery?

The Art on 9th pop-up will run until Monday, Nov. 30, 2026. It will be open Tuesday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on Mondays.

Planning to drive to the gallery? Keep in mind that there isn’t a designated parking lot, so you’ll need to find street parking.

So, if you’re looking to add a new piece of artwork to your home or just want to see what local artists have been working on, head down to the Art on 9th pop-up before it ends this November.
