Calgary HorrorCon is returning to the city this October, with a lineup of familiar faces from some of the biggest horror movies of the past few decades.

Alongside the celebrity meet-and-greets, the weekend will also feature more than 100 horror-themed vendors, independent film screenings, Q&A panels, and the annual costume contest.

Here’s a look at what’s happening, who you can meet, and what to know before heading over.

What to expect at Calgary HorrorCon

What is HorrorCon?

Calgary HorrorCon is a gathering for fans of all things horror, including movies, literature, live performance, and art. According to Calgary HorrorCon, the convention includes celebrity guests, vendors, panels and an international film festival. It is also Canada’s first and largest horror-focused convention, and has been running for more than a decade.

What can I do at HorrorCon?

Celebrity guests will be available for autographs and photo ops throughout the convention. You can also check out over 100 themed vendors selling everything from collectibles and artwork to movie props, posters, VHS tapes, and DVDs.

Throughout the two days, there will also be independent horror film screenings, showcasing some of the latest indie horrors.

And on Sunday at 5 p.m., the annual costume contest will take place, and horror-themed prizes will be up for grabs.

Can you get photos and autographs with the celebrity guests?

One of the biggest parts of Calgary HorrorCon is the opportunity to meet some of the actors. The attending celebrities will be available for autographs, selfies, and professional photo ops, so you can meet them in person and get a photo or something signed to take home.

When is Calgary HorrorCon?

Calgary HorrorCon 2026 is happening on Saturday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026. It will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Where is it taking place?

The convention is taking over the Genesis Centre in northeast Calgary. If you’re driving, the venue has a large parking lot with free parking and plenty of entrances, so getting in and out is easy. The centre is also accessible by public transit, with the Saddletowne LRT station nearby.

How much are tickets?

Calgary HorrorCon offers a few different ticket options depending on how long you want to stay at the event. A full weekend pass costs $50 and includes admission on both Saturday and Sunday.

If you’re only looking to attend one of the days, a Saturday pass costs $40, while a Sunday pass is $35. And if you’re bringing the kids, children under 12 get in for free.

Your convention ticket gets you through the doors, but celebrity autographs, selfies and photo ops must be purchased separately. The cost depends on the guest, so if you’re hoping to meet someone in particular, you’ll want to have a look at the individual listings on the HorrorCon website.

So, if you’re into all things horror, this is one weekend you won’t want to miss!
