Ontario is full of natural gems, and Earl Rowe Provincial Park is one of them. If you need a prime escape this fall season, to be one with nature, of course, this park is one of the best to enjoy the beauty of the colour-changing leaves and brisk weather.

You’ll have to travel about an hour and a half from Toronto to explore this provincial park.

We’re talking canoeing, kayaking, paddle boating and fishing – if you can face this brisk fall weather.

Earl Rowe Provincial Park is also home to multiple trails, including one with a stunning lookout point you don’t want to miss out on.

Forest trail walks

Conveniently named the Lookout Trail, this adventure takes you to panoramic treetop views that are truly spectacular in the fall.

Hiking trails include:

  • Fletcher’s Mill Pond Trail – 1.5 km, Connects Earl Rowe Dam to the pool along the edge of the Earl Rowe Lake.
  • Rainbow Run – 11 km, Encompasses the entire trail system around Earl Rowe. A portion of this trail includes a moderate incline to a lookout platform.
  • Little Trail – 0.5 km, Will bring you out by a fish ladder and dam.
  • Lookout Trail – 4 km, Leads to a beautiful lookout platform overlooking Earl Rowe and surrounding area.
  • Resource Trail – 1.5 km, An easy trail to learn about the great natural resources at Earl Rowe.

Fall also happens to be the season of spawning salmon. You can catch a glimpse of them at the fish ladder inside the park.
