A Christmas festival is coming to an Ontario park known for its floating boardwalk

Nature and Christmas come together in perfect harmony at Ken Reid Conservation Area in Ontario. This nature lovers sanctuary is known for its floating boardwalk but for one day only, it will transform into a perfect Christmas festival. Here’s what to know.
Just over an hour and a half drive east of Toronto, near Lindsay, Ontario is where you’ll find Ken Reid Conservation Area.
The park offers a 110-hectare wonderland of forests, meadows, and wetlands. The highlight? McLaren’s Creek Wetland, a provincially significant ecosystem teeming with life.
Outdoor adventures
There are nearly 12 kilometres of trails, each offering its own charm. It’s home to two boardwalks that allow you to glide over wetlands while soaking in the beauty of nature.
You can also enjoy the sights from its observation platform which is perfect for quiet moments and watching wildlife.
Christmas as Ken Reid
But beyond its trails, Ken Reid offers plenty to keep you busy – especially for the holidays.
Mark your calendars! Christmas at Ken Reid is back with free family activities on December 7th, from 10 AM to 4 PM.
Exciting activities include:
- Horse-drawn wagon rides
- Santa’s Workshop crafts for kids
- Grinch-Guided Story Walks
- Visits with Santa Claus
- Live entertainment like falconry shows and wood carving demos

And to top it all off, through the month of December visitors are welcome to explore The Illuminated Forest.
“This captivating trail, adorned by thousands of twinkling white lights, transforms the natural beauty of the forest into a magical experience,” shares the park.
It will be open nightly from 5 PM to 9 PM and parking will be available for just $4. Admission will be free
As for the Christmas festival, on-site parking is limited and paid. Parking passes must be pre-purchased in advance for $20. We can’t stress it enough – it must be purchased ahead of time as no day of onsite parking will be available.
