There’s a town in Ontario transforming for the holidays with over 130,000 lights & laser displays

You won’t have to travel far from Toronto to experience festive charm and almost endless holiday events – all in one place. The town of Oakville is transforming for the holiday season, and every nook and cranny will have its own celebration, illuminating the night sky until December. Here’s what to know.
Get ready to experience the festive town charm in Oakville. From twinkling lights and tree-lighting ceremonies to one-of-a-kind shopping, dining, and holiday events, you’ll want to head west of Toronto to experience all the fun.
What should I look out for?
You may get overwhelmed with all the festivities and excitement over in Oakville but that’s a good thing!
Visit Oakville shared its top events with Curiocity that are an absolute must:
- November 15th – Downtown Oakville’s Light up the Night
- November 16th – Oakville Santa Claus Parade
- November 23rd – At Home in Bronte for the Holidays
- November 23rd – Downtown Oakville’s Holiday Silent Disco
- November 30th – Kerr Village Tree Lighting and Holiday Market
- December 1st – Holiday Lights by the Lake

Anything new?
Visit Oakville tells us to keep an eye out for its Holiday Lights by the Lake which will be bigger than before.
“This event will feature even more lights and attractions. With more than 90 trees decked in 130,000 lights, paths illuminated by 100 light displays and 13 spotlight and laser displays, the park will be transformed into an unmissable winter destination,” they share.
Another experience seeing some new additions is the At Home in Bronte for the holidays on November 23rd.
Expect new features to their tree lighting ceremony including:
- A holiday market with 20+ vendors (Closing Lakeshore Rd W between Jones St and Bronte Rd)
- A 20’ x 60’ (synthetic) skating rink in Bronte Market Square; equipped with a skate rental station (1-day installation)
- Live music by Gigi Noche (3 PM) and Ol’ Timey Doctors (4 PM) and MattErrs Psylence (6 PM)
- Carolling from 5 PM to 5:45 PM with The Tempus Choral Society
As for Kerr Village Tree Lighting and Holiday Market, they will have a roaming social media platform taking pictures with a tree lighting-themed frame.

Clearly, Oakville loves celebrating every occasion because it will also have a ton of Taylor Swift-themed festivities this November in anticipation of the artist’s upcoming concerts.
