Ontario is full of beautiful cascading waterfalls – and in the fall, they are a sight to see! But if you’re looking for the best around, especially in the Muskokas, Oxtongue River-Ragged Falls Provincial Park is said to be home to one of the top waterfalls in the whole province. And all you need to do is embark on a short hike to enjoy the view.

Oxtongue River-Ragged Falls Provincial Park is located about three and a half hours north of Toronto. Day trip? Why not!

There’s a short trail from the parking lot that will take you straight to a lookout point so you can witness the thundering cascading waters, according to Ontario Parks.

Further up the trail, you will come upon Gravel Falls, which “demonstrates the powerful, erosive force of glacial meltwater.” May not be as strong in the fall season but still a great adventure nonetheless.

Both Ontario Parks and Muskoka Tourism have called these falls one of Ontario’s top 10 waterfalls.

You’ll be treated to some incredible views of rushing river rapids and cascading waters.

This provincial park is open seasonally from mid-May through October. That means you’ll have to act quickly as the park closes on October 20th, 2024.
