Toronto, you officially have bragging rights! Canada Sports Betting put out a recent study breaking down the coolest cities in Canada and the US based on eight categories and is it any surprise that Toronto came out on top for our country?

Let’s break it down.

The study

According to Canada Sports Betting the study looked at 50 of the most populous cities in Canada and the US using “eight key categories”:

  • Cultural and Arts Scene
  • Lifestyle and Recreation
  • Population/Residents
  • Dining and Nightlife
  • Social and Community Engagement
  • Tech and Connectivity
  • Environmental Sustainability
  • Trendiness and Media Coverage

“We assessed these categories using 19 relevant metrics and created an index with a top score of 100.” So, the higher a city scored the cooler it is considered.

Toronto is 6th overall with New York City, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland ahead in that order.

As for the other Canadian cities that made the list, Vancouver ranked 13th, Calgary 18th, Montreal 21st and Edmonton 24th.
