If you find yourself exploring Killarney Provincial Park and would love to embark on a hiking journey, we’ve got just the thing. You’ll want to get those hiking boots on and trek along the Lake of The Woods Trail.

It’s about four hours away from Toronto so a weekend trip to Killarney Provincial Park is a must.

It’s home to crystal-clear sapphire lakes and scenic landscapes. But the park is best explored via its five-day use hiking trails.

We recommend embarking on one of the lesser-known trails in Killarney Provincial Park, the Lake of The Woods Trail.

This adventure is about 3.5 KM long and is considered a moderate to difficult journey.

“This loop trail encircles Lake of the Woods, traveling through a variety of forest types, from old growth stands to elevated rocky outcrops,” shares Ontario Parks.

And these outcrops offer great views of Silver Peak and Lake of the Woods.

Per Ontario Parks, this trail descends to the lakeshore and right onto a short boardwalk that connects to the lake’s only island.

It’s an adventure worth exploring and if you’re down for the experience, you’ll want to plan your summer trip ASAP.

We couldn’t think of a better August adventure than this.
