Didn’t make it to the 2024 Summer Games? If your dream is to take in the sights, you might not even have to leave Canada!

While you won’t get to stamp your passport, you can still enjoy a picnic under the Eiffel Tower in the charming village of Montmartre, Saskatchewan.

Located 1 hour east of Regina, wanderlust-filled visitors can actually visit a replica of the iconic monument – though we’d recommend adjusting your expectations.

Nearly indistinguishable in photos (if taken from the right angle), the Montmartre Eiffel is only 30 feet tall but was built as an homage to France.

In fact, this is not the only place where you’ll find love for the country across the pond.

According to their website, the entire community was modelled after a Paris district of the same name.

“​Montmartre (Mount of the Martyrs) was named in 1893 when several families arrived from France to take up residency in Canada,” they explain.

“The Village moved twice before establishing the present location and incorporating as a Village in 1909. The Village of Montmartre was twinned with Montmartre, France in 1961.”

In addition to the tower itself, they also built familiar shops, houses, and a garden as a reminder of the beloved area.
