From the Rocky Mountains to inner city parks, Wild Rose Country is rich with scenic routes and among them? The Miyo Mahkamikisi Trail in Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park.
A name that means “Good Journey,” this 1 km trail is a beautiful boardwalk with towering trees and lakeside views, but there’s more!
Located northeast of Edmonton, the island also features an old-growth forest and a soft sand beach perfect for getting some fresh air, winding down, or breaking up an action-packed weekend.

While parts of the area are currently under construction there is truly a ton to see and do.
Luckily, if you’d like to extend your stay (and better your chances of seeing the 230 species of birds), there’s also a campground with cozy cabins, tipis, and room for RVs, tents, and trailers.
Interested in checking it out? You can book your site on the Albera Parks website now – but don’t hesitate.
