From the 2020 release of Tiger King to Bridgerton, the big red has given us much to talk, laugh, and even cry about. Quirky reality TV, iconic performances, and guilty pleasures brought us together, but have you ever wondered what Netflix show was the most popular in the world? How about here in Canada?
Thanks to the efforts of HighSpeedInternet.com, we now have our answer and honestly, our #1 was anything but a surprise. Before we really get into it though, let’s take a look at our neighbours around the globe!
After creating a list of the top Netflix shows in each region and analyzing a year’s worth of global search volume, HSI concluded that Peaky Blinders took the top spot with 2,280,600 searches worldwide; with the show’s biggest fans living in Brazil, Argentina, Germany, and Sweden.

Below were the shows that made up the rest of the list, none of which were first in Canada:

Now, what was number one in all of Canada? Well, folks, it was none other than a show created, filmed, and shot right here.
As you can see in the photo above, with 201,000 searches, Dan and Eugene Levy’s Schitt’s Creek turned it out and we couldn’t be happier. In fact, not only was it the most searched TV show in the north, but it also won the hearts of Americans.
