It’s no longer really the season for it, but OpenTable has released a list of the best outdoor dining restaurants in Canada. The list is based on user reviews on the website over the summer. And, wouldn’t you know it- seven Metro Van spots made the list!

We’re just going to be straight up from the get-go. While we admire OpenTable going for such, uh, varied picks, we definitely think they’ve missed the forest for the trees this go around. Since the list has got requirements like minimum user reviews and overall score, some of our favourite spots in Vancouver and beyond were glossed over. Not that these are bad picks, but come on, Vancouver (the city) has got one of the best outdoor dining scenes in all of Canada, and we have fewer spots that made the list than Edmonton (one of which was a chain restaurant). So, yeah.

But we digress. Here’s the full list of the Metro Van spots that made the list of the best outdoor dining restaurants in Canada.

  • Vancouver- Havana
  • Burnaby- Hart House Restaurant
  • Ladner- Taverna Gorgona
  • Tsawassen- Pat Quinn’s Restaurant & Bar
  • White Rock- Uli’s Restaurant
  • Langley- Glass House Estate Restaurant
  • Maple Ridge- Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill

Yeah, those are, uh, interesting picks to say the least. Our advice? Keep these in mind the next time you’re out in the ‘burbs, because they’re each worth checking out. But while you’re in Vancouver? Well, we’ve got our own lists of patios and outdoor dining options that (bias alert) we think are a little bit more appropriate for our incredible scene.

But hey, the more you know, we guess!
