Quite possibly our favourite trend is Grandmillennial which is literally a millennial take on your Grandma’s style. We’re not sure if it’s the new word or the style itself but either way, we’re into it. This decor style is the opposite of sleek minimalism and is a modern twist on what your granny’s house might look like. Warm up your rooms with cozy details like adding textures and using natural materials like rattan. Swap neutrals with florals or patterns but still keep it clean and elegant.
Creative Colours
Going bold with wall colours can be a little nerve-wracking but we’re all for it in 2021. It’s a big decision but it’s also one that will have a major payoff once you see your walls go from blah to beautiful. There are so many ways to incorporate colour in your home and some of our favs are wallpaper and modern wood accent walls. Rustic Vogue
This look incorporates elements of modern home comforts with unique character details into your living spaces. This look is very easy to do in homes with exposed beams, original floorboards, or paneled walls but it can also easily be achieved with a careful balance of old and new pieces that work together in harmony.
Decorate with Botanicals
Plants may be hands down the best decorative items to have in your house. Not only is having them fun and rewarding, but they also provide more oxygen in your home so that’s like a win, win, win! But the thought of trying to keep a plant alive can be daunting so don’t feel any shame in opting for a fake plant or using botanicals in textiles and wallpapers. Seriously we can’t all have a green thumb and luckily there are tons of options in Calgary for both live and fake plants!
Incorporate fur friend spaces
Let’s face it, our pets are just as much of the family as we are and so why not give them their own little spaces? It’s becoming more common for houses to include features beyond the traditional doggy door and we love that. Consider a built-in eating station, built-in crates, beds, and pet baths. Really sometimes (most times) our pets behave better than our children so why not pamper them a bit and make them feel at home too?
Go Big On Countertops
It’s always a good idea to invest in high-end countertops in the kitchen considering how much wear and tear they get. What’s trending now is to continue your classy countertops throughout your home.
