This weekend – while you’re having the 30th Zoom holiday get-together with your friends or family, throw something on that smart TV of yours that won’t distract you from the very interesting story that your uncle has only told you a few hundred times before. From fictional characters, surprise performances, and Christmas hits, here are 5 of the best Yule Log videos that you can warm up next to this winter.
10 hours of watching Ron Swanson drink whisky next to a crackling fire? This never-ending video is as cozy as it is kind of intimating – but it really doesn’t get any better. That sport coat is * chef’s kiss * and the various disapproving facial expressions really tell a story. Once upon a time – 2020 sucked. The end – Nick Offerman, probably.
Looking for something that really speaks to your soul as a human at the end of the longest 365 days in history? The White Stripes yule log is darker and certainly more artistic than traditional videos – but it’s worth the watch. The illustrations are gorgeous and it’s set to the White Stripes greatest hits. It doesn’t get better than that.
Okay, so this one isn’t long, but it’s gold. This is what we like to call wholesome content, friends. Spend a cozy hour with a few adorably skittish squirrels as they ransack someone’s cabin, somewhere in the woods.
This one is a crowd-pleaser. Have a few kids at home that you need to entertain for a half hour. Toss this bad boy on and watch them lose their minds with appearances from Shrek, Fiona and Donkey from the iconic Dreamworks film.
We’ll admit it. We were a total sucker for The Mandalorian. Jon Favreau saved Star Wars and little baby Yoda warmed our hearts. This weekend, warm up some hot cocoa, pop a squat next to the TV and let your heart melt at the sight of those adorable little ears of a 50-year-old alien baby. This is the way.
There you have it, folks. We honestly could have tripled this list with fun 2020 yule log videos, but these were just too good not to share. Enjoy, Canada! Happy Holidays!
