Wondering what some of the best jobs out there are? Well, wonder no more. US News & World Report has announced the 2023 Best Jobs, and nearly 40% of them are in health care or technology. Let’s dive in!
The 2023 Best Jobs ranking looks at 17 categories that include sectors such as business, health care and technology, and its purpose is to “help job seekers at every level achieve their career goals.
This year, the top job goes to software developers.
“Software developers are becoming increasingly critical for the growth and sustained success of businesses across industries,” said Janica Ingram, careers editor at US News. “The 10-year outlook for the occupation is strong and expected to grow at an above-average rate. It is predicted to be in high demand, because of the rising number of products and services that leverage software. Low unemployment and a high median salary also contribute to the appeal of this career.”

At second place is nurse practitioner, followed by medical and health services manager at third, and physician assistant at fourth spot.
“It is unsurprising that jobs in health care continue to dominate the Best Jobs rankings. This year’s cold and flu season reiterates the everpresent human need for health care practitioners,” said Ingram. “The higher-than-average salaries, low unemployment rates and strong future prospects for many of these roles certainly reflect that.”
