He told Emma Chamberlain during a red carpet interview that he was proud to wear the look and despite attending the Met Gala several years in a row, it always feels “different every year,” and “absurd in the best way.”

Canada’s honourary king and queen, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, co-chaired this year’s Met Gala and they were a show-stopping pair on the carpet. Reynolds was understated but refined in a dark velvet tuxedo, while his wife dazzled in an Atelier Versace reversible gown, which went from coral pink to aqua blue. The dress paid homage to New York City, with reference to the city’s architecture and landmarks.
