Trust 17th Ave to find a way to spice up every season and make supporting local irresistible. This time, they are doing it with a whole event calendar dedicated to four themes: eat, play, shop and explore. The Ave recently released its event calendar for spring, aka Business is Blooming, and it’s definitely not disappointing.
Each week of April and May is dedicated to one of the four themes- eat, play, shop and explore. And you’ll find everything from exclusive menus, great deals, special workshops, fun activities and more– all relating to the theme of the week.
So with that in mind, here’s a round up of 10 events to look forward to this spring!
Scavenger Hunt
17th Ave is hosting a month-long scavenger hunt for adults where you complete missions to earn points. These missions would obviously entail attending events, eating, shopping and exploring The Avenue. And yes, there will be prizes too. They’re giving away prizes every week and one grand prize at the end. All you have to do is download the GooseChase app, search the Business is Blooming game and start playing.
When: April 15 – May 15
Drink Specials at Whisky Rose
Frankly, we’d visit this Nashville-inspired Saloon any day but for the next 8 weeks, there is more reason to do so. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, you can enjoy buckets of Domestic Beer for $25 and shots of Jim Beam for $5.

Live DJ Weekends at Jameson’s Pub
This iconic pub is a popular choice when looking for a lively place for drinks with friends. And the place will be even more happening through April and May with their live DJ nights over the weekends. So, round up the squad for a few good sips and some upbeat music.
When: April-May, Fridays and Saturdays, 10pm onwards
La Hora Loca at Heaven Restaurant
Heaven is turning its weekend brunches into crazy hour, aka, La Hora Loca. Taking cues from a Venezuelan tradition, Heaven is hosting a crazy hat competition. And anyone voted to have the craziest hat will win a $20 gift certificate. If you’ve ever wanted to channel your inner Mad Hatter, now would be the time.

Paint For Fun at Paint Ur Art Out
There’re few things more fun than spending a few good hours with your besties and letting your creative juices run wild. And this wine glass and bottle painting workshop is the perfect way to do both. Let your wine glasses match your patio season vibe!

Spring from Head to Toe at Diva Salon

Kit & Ace Community Gardens
In the spirits of spring, Kit & Ace is planting a community garden in the 16th Ave store, and every week, they’ll be hosting a different local business to set up a pop up space in the shop. That means that every Sunday, you’ll get to check out the garden and shop from the new pop up shop!
