Hello, fellow food lovers!! Spring is in the air and we’re ready to make the most of it. And, one great way to do that is by trying a ton of new restaurants around Vancouver. Lucky for us, there are tons of new faces, from bakeries to breweries and just about everything in between. So, let’s check them out!

Here are some new restaurants in Vancouver we can’t wait to try this spring.

Now Open

Hello Nori

Vancouver’s newest sushi spot has a fun specialty- handrolls. We have to say, they look like the perfect mix between sushi cones (too small) and sushi burritos (too big). Like the story of Goldilocks, we might have found a hand roll that’s just right. And, we don’t have to trespass to get it!

When: Daily, 11AM-10PM
Where: 1116 Robson Street

Thank You Pizza

Vancouver has got so many tremendous pizza places that it’s entered a positive feedback loop. That’s right, you’ll be thankful you try the wood-fired deliciousness at this new spot in East Van, not overwhelmed by its appearance on the scene. Swing by for pizza and a glass of wine, or grab takeout for a night in.

When: Thursday to Sunday, 5PM-10PM
Where: 789 Gore Avenue

Marché Mon Pitou

While branded as a specialty grocery store, this spot has become synonymous with great French food in a welcoming space. They’ve got fantastic breakfast and brunch options, but we’re looking forward to some late-afternoon snacks from here as the temperature heats out.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9AM-5PM and Saturday/Sunday, 10AM-5PM
Where: 1387 W 7th Avenue

Jo’s Italian Deli

Originally from Chilliwack, Jo’s recently expanded to Vancouver, and has become a go-to deli option in the neighbourhood. Sure, you can grab a few groceries, but we’re looking forward to some phenomenal sandwiches for a trip to the park.

When: Tuesday to Saturday 11:00 AM to 7:00 pM
Where: 2505 Alma Street

Crack On

Vancouver’s newest breakfast spot is actually a food truck! However, this one already knows the best places to hang out, and is often located in front of 33 Acres or Faculty Brewing. A little late brunch with a beverage to wash it down sounds like a great start to spring. When: Varies per week Where: Stay up to date via Instagram

Donky Chicken

This Korean fried chicken spot has opened its first overseas location right here in Vancouver. If you’ve never tried Korean fried chicken, it is to die for. It’s crispy, saucy, and amazing, so we’re stoked to try out this new joint. When: Every day from 11:30 AM to 11:00 PM Where: 363 East Broadway

Autostrada Osteria

The first official restaurant in the Vancouver House happens to be a staple name in the city. Autostrada has proven to be a neighbourhood favourite wherever it goes, and we’re sure that this addition will continue that streak. Definitely a great option for a fancier night out. When: Daily, 4PM-10PM Where: 1481 Continental St.

Wurst of Us

The new sister restaurant of Aleph Eatery has got a very specific menu- they specialize in vegan hot dogs. But, they’re turning up some amazing stuff using cuisines from around the world. If you’re missing the beauty that was Bestie, then this is absolutely up your alley. When: Every day 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM Where: 1889 Powell St.

Slim’s BBQ

Ain’t nothing hits the spot better than some classic BBQ. And if you’re in the mood to indulge your inner carnivore, Slim’s BBQ has got you covered. They serve some great Texas-style BBQ such as brisket, smoked pork butt, and more. When: Every day 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM Where: 2301 Main Street

Shaketown

We like the fun branding of this new brewery coming to North Vancouver. And, fingers crossed that we’ll like their beers just as much. Once they open of course, but they’ve already teased their first brews! So, we’re hoping that we can go sooner rather than later.

When: Slated for spring 2021
Where: 104 Esplanade E, North Vancouver

CRAFT Beer Market English Bay

We’ve got one big reason why we’re looking forward to this new spot so much- the massive patio overlooking English Bay. We’re excited to head down for a nice patio beer on a hot day. Heck, maybe we’ll treat ourselves and grab some wings while we’re at it.

When: Opens March 22nd, 2021
Where: 1795 Beach Avenue

Nemesis Great Northern Way

Once open, the new Nemesis coffee might take the cake for the coolest location in Vancouver. Not because it’s on Great Northern Way, but because it’s inside that stunning red flower-looking building that was designed by Perkins + Will. Plus, they’re going to start roasting their own beans in there.

When: Slated to open spring/summer
Where: 555 Great Northern Way

Burdy

We have to admit, the latest fried chicken sandwich spot to announce its opening picked an extremely good niche. Why little is known about this new venture, one thing’s for certain- they’ll be specializing in chicken parm sandwiches. Yeah, you read that right, this is some Galapagos-level diversification in the chicken sandwich world.

Juanita

The owners of the ever-popular Lift Bakery in North Vancouver have decided to open a sibling spot in Kits! While you can grab a lot of the same delicious breakfast items, there will also be an all-day menu available. They’re so close to opening, they’ve already announced their first menu showcase dinner!

When: Slated to open by end of March
Where: 1516 Yew Street

Miantiao

Kitchen Table Restaurants (Ask for Luigi, Pourhouse, etc…) are behind this new fine dining option replacing MARKET by Jean-Georges at the Shangri-La Hotel. The cuisine will be Italian-Chinese fusion (main tiao is ‘noodles’ in Mandarin), so we’re looking forward to some crazy dishes.

When: Anticipated for May 2021
Where: 1128 W Georgia Street

Well folks, those are some new Vancouver restaurants that we can’t wait to try this spring! We hope you share our passion for delicious food.
