A no-brainer option leading into the weekend, in our opinion. However, don’t wait until Saturday afternoon where you’ll almost certainly find a line. Instead, sneak out every night to your top spots for a pint or two.

We’ll go right ahead and say that we’re scared of what Vancouver’s beaches will look like this weekend, but we feel the need to visit nonetheless. Our advice here is to pick some lesser-known beaches over the fan favourites. What can we say? We like our space.

For the more adventurous, you might be thinking about a quick hike in the mountains. We’re in the same boat, but we will say that you should probably double your food, water and sunscreen amounts just for safety’s sake! We don’t want anyone overheating on the side of a mountain.

This is honestly our top pick as an activity this weekend. After all, Vancouver features some absolutely stunning gardens that are sure to provide ample shade during your visit. Pair that with some gorgeous flowers in bloom, and this is a great mid-day activity.

Movie theatres are back, friends! An, there’s no doubt that an extremely easy way to beat the heat is by sitting in a dark room watching either the classics or some new releases. Plus, we will not hesitate to admit that all theatre popcorn is better than what we make at home.

Ready to get jazzy in your own backyard? You picked a good weekend to do it. Jazz Fest will be hosting live-stream concerts from all over the world, making it the perfect accompaniment to a little tanning on the patio or a backyard BBQ.

Who doesn’t love food? And, who doesn’t love a good food truck? For food-lovers across the city, this food truck celebration is happening all summer until Labour Day on Fridays and Saturdays. Indulge in BBQ, mini donuts, grilled cheese sandwiches, and whatever else they have on offer.
When: Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In the mood for an amazing view? Yeah, we thought so. The Sea to Sky Gondola is now up and running and is very much worth the trip. While it might seem sort of “touristy,” if you live in the area you got to check it out! And hey, if you go during the week it probably won’t be that busy!
