We’re heading into a very special weekend, Toronto. Not sure what we’re talking about? These next few days mark the official one year anniversary of when the city went into lockdown for the first time. Ouch. Can you believe how fast time flies? To distract ourselves from that depressing knowledge, we’re hitting all the best socially distanced and at-home events we can find.

Here are 10 of the best things to do at home and around Toronto this weekend.

BLOOR YORKVILLE ICEFEST

The day has finally arrived for the Bloor Yorkville Icefest! This outdoor event was originally scheduled for February, but the stay-at-home extension forced in to move. Well, now its moment to shine has arrived! Walk through tons of gorgeous ice sculptures celebrating the theme “A Trip Around The World.”

THE BEACH VILLAGE LUMINOSITY

This weekend you can hit the beaches to enjoy a gorgeous outdoor art display. The socially-distanced affair will feature installations from local artists that’ll light up the whole street. It’s spaced out and safe to enjoy from afar, so slap on a mask and hit it up.

BEING SCENE 2021

Speaking of great art, you can also enjoy a ton of fabulous works online with this virtual exhibit. Tons of Toronto pieces are on display on the website, which you can enjoy with just a few clicks online. Normally, this exhibit would be in person. But we’ll settle for the next best thing.

VIRTUAL BAKING CLASS

This weekend’s virtual baking class will walk you through the process of making mouth-watering Italian bomboloni. In laymen’s terms, that’s a Nutella stuffed donut. Yum! We know your sweet tooth will be glad you attended this one.
