PRIDE TORONTO

Pride Month just kicked off here in Toronto with loads of awesome socially-distanced events in store. For the 40th annual Toronto Pride, the event is going on as a “Phygital” celebration. That is, a part physical and part digital event. In a regular year, hundreds of thousands of folks would take to the streets for Pride Toronto. But this year, you can log on to the official Pride Toronto website to catch all the festivities. This weekend there’s a ton of great stuff in store.

INSIDE OUT FILM FESTIVAL

Of course, with Pride Month comes the Inside Out Film Festival. Celebrate all that is LGBTQ+ film at this awesome event wrapping up this weekend. There are tons of great films and industry talks lined up. Plus, it’s all happening virtually so you can enjoy the whole thing from the comfort (and safety) of your very own couch.

BLOOM FESTIVAL

During these turbulent times, Toronto has bloomed from the ashes. This awesome festival is all about celebrating just that. You can log on any day this weekend to catch a virtual celebration of all the amazing artworks our city has produced over the past. The festival will be showcasing works from artists in all mediums from all backgrounds.

TORONTO JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL

Log on this weekend for the ongoing cinematic event that is the Toronto Jewish Film Festival. For the 29th year in a row, this event will be showcasing the best of cinema for and by Jewish folks. Along with all the incredible screenings they’ve got lined up, there are also some pretty stellar filmmaking awards being given away. It’s sure to be a memorable event.

EATS NIGHT MARKET

The Eats Night Market is back this summer! Kicking off this Friday, you can head on over to the Street Eats Market for weekends full of delicious food. Every weekend of the season will be full of indulgent eats from the city’s finest local vendors. Plus, the spot is open late and safely spaced out. What’s not to love?

OPEN TUNING MUSIC FESTIVAL

Who doesn’t love a little live music? For the second year in a row, this one-day local music festival is happening online. Better yet, it’s happening online this weekend! The interactive event invites folks from all over to perform live from their living rooms. It’s basically an open mic night, only virtual. You can register to perform ahead of time or just take part as a member of the audience.

SING! THE TORONTO VOCAL ARTS FESTIVAL

Speaking of music, you can celebrate global voices with this stellar online event. The Sing! Toronto Vocal Arts Festival has a whole lineup of awesome a cappella groups lined up. There will be live performances from coast-to-coast. Plus, this year marks the first ever Slaight Music SING! competition for up-and-coming artists. You’ll definitely want to tune in this weekend.

SPRING STATIONS

The official winners for this ongoing art event have just been announced, so this weekend’s as good a time as any to check ’em out. Next time you’re on a little walk though the city, be sure to marvel at these beautiful artworks. The pieces on display are unlike any art installations you’ve seen before. They’ve all got great stories behind them and cover loads of important topics.

ACTIVETO

ActiveTO is getting even bigger this weekend! Get out and enjoy a little fresh air, as the city blocks off vehicle traffic on a number of Toronto roads. You can stretch your legs, enjoy a little sunshine, and roam the city streets. This weekend another popular spot, Allen Road, will be added to the lineup. Now even more pedestrians, cyclists, and runners will be able to enjoy the roads.

HAVE A GARDEN PICNIC

The weather this weekend is supposed to be beautiful, so enjoy it all with a little picnic in the park. Toronto is chock full of gorgeous gardens to explore.
