Another weekend is just around the corner, and we’ve got some great things to do in Edmonton to make the most of it! Fingers crossed that we’ll be celebrating the Oilers winning the Battle of Alberta, with the forecasted rain just being a minor nuisance no matter what you’re up to.

WATCH THE BATTLE OF ALBERTA

This Battle of Alberta playoff series has got us fired up! Whether or not you can actually score tickets to the games, we’ve got quite a few places to watch them with some pals, including Rogers Place itself.

THE CITADEL THEATRE

This is the last weekend to check out “9 to 5: The Musical”. A show based entirely on the music of Dolly Parton? Yeah, this is a great pick if you’re looking for a little bit of culture.

UFEST

A celebration of all things Ukrainian is happening in Edmonton is coming. Head down to Borden Park to enjoy music, performances, workshops, and of course, some absolutely delicious Ukrainian food. The best part? It’s free to attend!

DREAMSPEAKERS

Speaking of cultural celebrations, the Dreamspeakers International Indigenous Film Fest is about to kick off! Head down to the Metro Cinema to see things in person, or grab a festival pass for virtual showings and unwind at home.

ART GALLERY OF ALBERTA

Two new exhibitions are coming to the AGA this weekend! One sheds light on Haiti’s relationship to the world, while the other focuses on J’ouvert, a Trinidadian carnival dating back to the 18th century.

PRIDE MONTH PRE PARTY WITH BOA

Pride Month is just around the corner! And, you can start getting excited this weekend, with a drag performance from Boa at Evolution Wonderlounge.

FORT EDMONTON PARK

The already iconic destination got a major renovation last year, and this is its first full season back! Family-friendly options that double as date ideas are few and far between, but we definitely think Fort Edmonton Park is a great example of it.

THE MAGICAL MUSIC OF HARRY POTTER

On the other hand, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra is about to kick off a full series of concerts showcasing the music of Harry Potter. We’ll admit that it’s one of the few soundtracks we’d actually want to hear live.

ELK ISLAND NATIONAL PARK

On another note, Elk Island National Park is a wonderland any time of year, even if it’s raining out. Enjoy some hiking and exploring during the day, then kick back for some stargazing afterwards before you head home.
