Welcome to the final weekend of July, Edmonton, and hopefully a long weekend for most of us out there to boot! Either way, it’s going to be jam-packed with amazing options around the city. How do we know? Because we’ve looked around for you!
Here are the best things to do in Edmonton this weekend.
It’s the last weekend to check out one of Edmonton’s most beloved events! Whether you’ve yet to go or are just looking for another few days of fun, K-Days easily tops our list of options this weekend.
When: Ends Sunday, July 31st
Where: 7515 – 118 Avenue
Cost: $15+
Speaking of the end of K-Days, catch this musical that took Alberta by storm on Sunday! Lampooning the ‘best summer ever’, the show first received critical acclaim, then got popular enough to tour around the province, and now is back for one last hurrah.
When: Sunday, July 31st
Where: 7515 118 Avenue Northwest
Cost: $25 (includes admission to K-Days)
Meanwhile, Taste of Edmonton is set to wrap up this weekend as well. Although the focus here is the food, there are also concerts and all sorts of activities to enjoy in between your stops.
When: Ends Sunday, July 31st
Where: Churchill Square
Cost: $5+ for tickets
We’ve got two concerts that are part of music fests, but are must-sees! Our top pick for Big Valley Jamboree is Eric Church, but know that he’s flanked by Dallas Smith the day before and Tim McGraw the day after, so you really can’t go wrong here.
When: Saturday, July 30th
Where: Camrose, Alberta
Cost: $130+
One of the least known names, but undeniably coming from one of the most well-known places. A top name in the DJ game for decades, Jellybean Benitez has the extremely rare claim as one of the folks who managed to play at Studio 54 in its heyday. If that’s not a reason to go to Disco in the Park, we don’t know what is.
When: On throughout the weekend
Where: 9999 Grierson Hill Road
Cost: $75+
To complete the festival roundup, we’ve got the globally-focused Heritage Festival to look forward to! All the different pavilions (and their foods) are the main draw, sure, but we’d be remiss not to mention that World Music Week is happening at the same time.
When: Starts Friday, July 28th
Where: Hawrelak Park
Cost: Free+
Take us out to the ball game! No seriously, a day eating outdoors, enjoying the sun, and hearing the sweet crack of the bat is a perfect summer option.
When: Games throughout the weekend
Where: 10233 96 Avenue NW
Cost: $19.99
One of the summer’s most beloved activities is back in action! The Edmonton Riverboat first set sail a couple of weeks ago, and we’ll be cruising into the fall.
When: Click the link above for next cruise
Where: 9734 98 Avenue NW
Cost: $27.95+
That’s right, the Edmonton Corn Maze is back for the season as well! Head down and quite literally lose yourself in acres upon acres of corn. Sounds like a Stephen King novel, but we assure you, it’s much more fun than that.
When: Open throughout the weekend
Where: 26171 Secondary Hwy 627, Spruce Grove
Cost: $12+ for GA
Get your crew ready – the K-Days Bud Light Stage Evening Concert Series has officially kicked off, and Polo G is bringing his tour to YEG with PGF Nuk & Kill Jasper. Get tix while you can!
When: Friday, July 29th, 2022
Where: Edmonton EXPO Centre, Bud Light Stage
Cost: Visit the ticketing website for more details
