Treat yourself to the upscale dining experience the tasting menu from Canoe. This snazzy Toronto restaurant specializes in seasonal, Canadian eats. The tasting menu includes a rotation selection of dishes that exemplify just that. Every week the menu changes, so this bucket list item can be tried again and again.

GOLDEN HASH-BROWN POUTINE FROM SCHOOL RESTAURANT

Brunch and poutine meet with this creative take on the classically Canadian dish. Toronto’s very own School Restaurant has been serving up this icon for ages. It includes pan-fried hash browns, sautéed leeks, cheese curds, rosemary mushroom gravy, and tomato chutney. Topped with a sunny egg, this scrumptious plate is too good not try!

Picture this: you and your squad are lounging on the patio on a Sunday morning, and the table is full of pints of The Pit Ceasar for all. Sounds like a dream, eh? If we were to rank all the best places for ice cream in Toronto, Summer’s would definitely make the list. If you’ve never stopped by this iconic Yorkville spot, go get a pen and update your bucket list NOW. All of their flavours are incredible, but the Maple Walnut ice cream is a top hit. Serving scoops of Canadian flavour, this delicious spot is perfect for the summer.

FULLY LOADED POUTINES FROM NOM NOM NOM

Why enjoy regular poutine when you could enjoy fully loaded poutine? One of the city’s top spots for the classic Canadian dish offers the item loaded with crazy toppings. Their menu includes pretty much every flavour combination you could imagine, but we’ve got to recommend the bacon poutine. Classic Canadian flavours with a little extra savoury twist? That makes our must-try list any day!

For the last 15 years in Toronto, NishDish has been a successful business built on Traditional Anishnawbe (Nish) food. This summer, be sure to add their crowd favourite, wild blueberry bannock, to your bucket list. Although Marketeria is under a bit of a transitional period during the pandemic, you can enjoy NishDish eats through their catering services. Trust us, this traditional dish is a must try.

LOBSTER ROLLS FROM MARKET STREET CATCH

As one of the most popular dishes in the Canadian Maritimes, we’ve got to include lobster rolls on our summer bucket list! The East Coast-inspired dish is an absolute must. At Market Street Catch, you can enjoy the fresh seafood creation any day of the week!

Grab your ingredients and whip up a Caesar from home while you decide which place to hit up first! As the official cocktail of Canada (and of summer), it’s no surprise they snagged 2 spots on the list.
