Back for the 24th year, the Calgary Zoo is once again ready to dazzle you with elaborate light displays honouring the local tradition of ZOOLIGHTS! Tickets are now on sale so grab some friends, family, or a hot date and head over to the glowing event.
This year we could all use a little more cheer and we can’t think of a better way to spread joy than a night at ZOOLIGHTS. Ice skating, sippin’ on hot chocolate, cozying up to a fire, or taking a trip down the iconic lover’s lane sounds pretty dang merry to us. And, there are tons of exciting new themed areas to check out. Polar Wonderland at penguin plaza will leave you with a festive photo to take home. Journey Weichiau lets you make some noise while paying tribute to Hippo conservation in Africa, and the Enchanted Gardens in the ENMAX conservatory will be bigger and more magical than ever. Oh, and the best part? ZOOLIGHTS, presented by Olympia Trust Company, is ready to welcome you to Santa’s cabin for a socially distanced visit with the big guy himself.
Starting November 20th and running until January 3rd you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the magic that 2 million twinkling lights have to offer. Lights are turned on at 5 PM and you can stay for as little or long as you feel comfortable with, until 9 PM that is.
As an added touch this year the Calgary Zoo is expanding their sensory Sunday experience. Even more, care will be taken this year to cater to those with sensitivities so everyone can enjoy the fun. There are also a couple of other nights to mark on your calendar, an adults-only night (yes please!) and a more family affair: Zoo Years Eve.
Tickets are available online now. Gather your pride, pack, waddle, or herd and we’ll see you there!
When: November 20 – January 3, 5PM to 9PM
