You can paddle down an Edmonton river in a magical glowing kayak this spring

Canadians are adventurous so when it comes to doing fun outdoorsy activities, the question is not why – but where?! In this case, the answer is the North Saskatchewan River, where those who are willing to brave the Edmonton waters can hop into a glowing kayak after dark.

Starting this June, Albertans looking for something whimsical or unique are encouraged to check out the aptly named Edmonton Kayaks and rent out a tandem boat or a single paddler, and hit the water.

Rentals are available for two hours at a time, are totally transparent, supped up with LED lighting, and even have a Bluetooth speaker – so you can really get into it.

These trips are to be self-guided and require you to dock your canoe without any assistance – so don’t come expecting a tour or without someone willing o help you in and out of the water.

Each trip costs between $70 and $120 depending on which canoe you rent and it makes for a pretty solid date, birthday, or girls’ night activity so keep this one in your back pocket and check it out.

There’s truly no activity quite as magical.
