These Toronto residents have taken the art of gingerbread house-making to the next level. After 6 weeks and 150 hours of combined effort, they managed to create an exact replica of their local Bloordale Village strip, complete with storefronts, snow, and even a few raccoons.
The trio — Lori Steuart, Olivia Jewer, and Lenny Olin — told CTV Toronto that they took up their craft last Christmas during the lockdown. This year, they decided to make a spectacular creation for the whole city to enjoy.

The display is a replica of the stretch of Bloor St between Lansdowne Ave and St. Clarens Ave, featuring the Wine Rack, Penny’s Bar, Hasty Market, and Caribbean Queen that occupy the street in real life. If you look closely, you’ll even spot the legendary Trinity Bellwood’s white squirrel.
The gingerbread streetscape is now on display at Penny’s Bar at 1306 Bloor St W and it’ll remain there for the next few weeks until it gets eaten or raffled off to charity.
Torontonians love to get crafty for special holidays. Last Halloween, one group of residents filled their front porch with over 100 Pokemon jack-o-lanterns, and there are a few houses around town that are locally famous for their over-the-top Christmas displays.
