You can enjoy some serious inner-city tranquility for free at Seattle’s Kubota Gardens

It’s easy to fall into a routine when it comes to your favorite Seattle walks. And one of the great things about our city is just how many outdoor spaces we have. Especially now that walking has become such a fixture in all of our pandemic lifestyles. So we think you should add Kubota Gardens to your list of places to check out because it’s one of Seattle’s most beautiful parks and we could all use a little relaxation right now.

If you are unfamiliar with Kubota Gardens, it’s located in South Seattle and features over 20 acres of gardens. Not to mention, it’s been around since 1927 when master landscaper Fujitaro Kubota brought it to life with his own two hands. So thanks to his hard work, this park has rolling hills, waterfalls, and beautifully trimmed native plants. Plus it even has a few koi fish.

But what’s even cooler about Kubota Garden is that it’s free. Yes, you can enjoy all of this beautiful greenery for free! Plus you can even bring your dog if you feel so inclined. And you don’t have to worry about getting lost because the park has a self-guided tour map that’s complete with all of the relevant park info you could ever want.

So if this is your first time hearing about Rainier Beach’s hidden gem, we highly suggest that you go and check it out. If you’d like to do so, you can learn more by clicking here. And please be sure to wear your mask and follow all COVID-19 rules posted by the garden.
