You can book your stay at this floating houseboat on one of Canada’s most famous rivers

We’re still dreaming up our post-pandemic vacation! This week, we’ve got a killer spot in Wakefield, Quebec. That’s right, our imaginations are taking us right out of the province today. Wild stuff, right? Anyway, The River Den is a gorgeous four-season floating houseboat that will make any traveller happy. Let’s just jump right in!

*Editor’s Note: We aren’t recommending any non-essential travel to locations outside of Ontario. Book this one for the future, folks!

THE RIVER DEN – HOUSEBOAT IN WAKEFIELD, QUEBEC

As we mentioned, The River Den is situated in Wakefield, Quebec. The tiny house on the water is just a short trip from all the amazing amenities the town has to offer. We’re talking cafés, boutiques, rail road tracks, spas, vintage shops, bakeries, bars, and more. The spot is also only 25 minutes from Ottawa, which is loaded with museums, galleries, and landmarks.

As for the boat itself? That’s serving gorgeous, cozy, rustic vibes. Each detail adds to the houseboat ambience, including handmade features and a custom steering wheel. It’s just so very nautical in here!

The boat is 33 feet long, with 23 feet of interior space. It comes equipped with a second story sleeping loft perfect for catching some zees.

Because it’s floating on the Gatineau River, there’s tons of great stuff to do! From the houseboat, you can enjoy the swimming and fishing on the river. Or head to the nearby shop to get your hands on rentable kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, bikes, and snowshoes and skis in the winter. There’s never a dull moment here!

The off-the-grin paradise use a solar powered energy source. It’s also got an indoor fireplace for warmth, it’s own little kitchen, and a BBQ grill. What more could ya ask for?

But, of course, we’ve got to highlight this killer view. Climb up to The River Den’s rooftop deck to enjoy gorgeous sights as far as the eye can see. The carpeted rooftop is perfect for stargazing, yoga, or just relaxing out in the sun.

As soon as it’s safe to do so, we’ll definitely be booking a stay here! What better way to get out and enjoy a little nature than with a floating tiny home on one of Canada’s most famous rivers? Take it all in here.
