You and your pals can rent this private Canadian island for as low as $600/night

Ah, celebrities, always down for a laugh. In case you missed it, Kim Kardashian-West shared a rather ill-advised update about renting a private island for her fam in order to find some normalcy amid the pandemic. Despite the post being tone-deaf, it did spark our curiosity, so we decided to see what Canada’s private island rentals are like. Turns out, there are a few to pick from, and some are pretty darn spectacular. Next stop, complete separation from reality!

*Note: COVID restrictions that are currently in place may affect the amount of people allowed at rentals around Canada. Be sure to check local regulations before renting anywhere in the country.

Say hello to Explore’s Adventure Island in Ontario. Located on Shoal Lake, this 9-acre private island features a home with over 3,000 square feet of living space. Plus, it comes with all the amenities you’d expect from such a secluded destination. Well, except for a hot tub.

But that’s ok, we’ll get over it. And, it’ll be pretty easy to do so. Maybe we’ll cozy up with a book in the house, or strut outside to get a fire going. If this was the summer, we’d also take advantage of the kayaking and boating options, but hey, we can’t win ’em all.

The best part of all this? Getting here with your friends won’t cost the same amount as a house. Since the cabin can sleep up to 12 people (barring COVID-19 restrictions), the $600 or so a night all of a sudden becomes a lot more reasonable. Heck, even with 5 of your closest friends it’s a bargain.

You can check out Explore’s Adventure Island on Vrbo. Happy island hopping this winter, folks!
