The WNBA’s second-ever game in Canada will be held in Alberta

The WNBA is bringing a game north of the border! Following last season’s successful first-ever WNBA game played in Canada, the league is bringing another preseason match-up to Canadian soil – this time in Edmonton, Alberta. Here are the details.

According to the WNBA, “The second WNBA Canada Game will feature the Los Angeles Sparks and the Seattle Storm playing a preseason game on Sunday, May 5th, 2024, at Rogers Place in Edmonton.”

The second game in Canada follows last year’s first which featured the Chicago Sky and Minnesota Lynx in front of a sold-out crowd at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

“Sports teams from around the world know that Edmonton fans cheer the loudest, and I am excited for the Seattle Storm, Los Angeles Sparks and WNBA to experience the excitement in Edmonton for themselves,” said Edmonton Mayor Amarjeet Sohi.

“This game is another entry in Edmonton’s long history of celebrating women’s basketball, which includes the Edmonton Grads who continue to hold the North American record for the women’s sports team with the best winning percentage. I am excited that Edmonton has the chance to showcase our amazing city, facilities and community spirit as we host this world class sporting event.”

Tickets for the 2024 WNBA Canada Game will go on sale to the general public on March 20th.
