Whistler Blackcomb ski hills are back open & here’s what to be ready for

While it’s raining down here in Vancouver, up in the mountains it’s snowing. And with snow comes skiing. So, if you’re looking to hit the slopes up at Whistler Blackcomb, we’ve got a rundown of the rules they’ve put in place for the 2021/22 winter season.

So, in general, the rules make a lot of sense. All visitors will be required to wear face coverings in all inside spaces like lobbies, gondolas, bathrooms, and all that. Also, for people who want to dine at the resort, you will have to present proof of vaccination to be seated. Oh, and you will also have to reserve a table in advance.

Lifts and gondolas will also be at normal capacity and will be operated as such. So, no need to worry about reserving a spot on there! Along with these rules for guests, staff will have vaccination requirements as well as regular health screening. Plus, cleaning and sanitizing will be a top priority for them.

These are the basic rules of the opening, but if you want to learn more about the details, check out their site right here. Oh and the resort opens today!

We have a feeling an activity like skiing might be one of the most COVID-safe things you can do this winter. Along with these new rules, it’s one of the few sports that have face-coverings built in. Have you ever flown down a mountain in January with your face exposed? Let’s just say it’s not fun.
