North America’s largest mountain resort kicks off its 60th season in B.C. with new scenic routes

North America’s largest mountain resort just kicked off its first day of the 2025/2026 ski season in B.C., which means you can officially start hitting the slopes. For 60 years, Whistler Mountain has led the way with its innovative terrain and spirit of adventure. To celebrate, the current season celebrates a year of milestones, including Blackcomb’s 45th anniversary and 40 years of its famed Peak to Valley experience, the longest race of its kind in the world.

“From Blackcomb’s 45th anniversary to 40 years of the legendary Peak to Valley Race, 45 years of Whistler Heli-Skiing, and 30 years of the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, the 2025/26 season is a tribute to everything that makes these mountains extraordinary,” says Belinda Trembath, VP & COO of Whistler Blackcomb. “We’re excited to showcase the bold spirit and enduring legacy that have shaped Whistler Blackcomb.”

Seven new Wonder Routes

Adding to Whistler Mountain’s unforgettable winter experiences are the seven new Wonder Routes, which will take guests on distinct, scenic journeys that highlight the resort’s terrain and heritage.

This curated trail network leads to various landmarks and viewpoints, weaving through beautiful scenery and hidden gems along the way. Each route is colour-coded according to skill level and includes turn-by-turn directions. So no matter if you’re looking for an exciting ride through glades or for family-friendly terrain, there’s something for everyone here.

On Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, Blackcomb’s lifts officially fired up, welcoming guests to the iconic ski resort. According to the resort, opening day festivities will continue into next week, when Whistler Mountain opens its Diamond Anniversary season. Once snowfall and snowmaking progress, visitors will have over 8,100 acres to explore, and more than 200 runs, offering something for every age and skill level.

For an extra thrill, visitors can check out Whistler Heli-Skiing, which is celebrating 45 seasons of deep powder turns, towering peaks, and endless terrain. This experience is 20 per cent off for Epic Pass Holders through Epic Mountain Rewards, so this season might just be your year to check it off your bucket list.

Epic Passes and lift prices

Epic Passes are available online for US$1,185 (C$1,649 for Unlimited Season Passes) until Dec. 4, 2025, which gives you unrestricted access to Whistler Blackcomb as well as many other Vail Resorts.

Plus, this winter, Vail Resorts has introduced Epic Friend Tickets, which make it easier for Epic Pass Holders to share their mountain experiences with 50 per cent off lift tickets for friends and family.

Alternatively, day passes are available for $143+, and winter lift tickets start at $195 per adult and $98 per child.
