Here’s everything you need to know about Canada’s Wonderland this season

We’re just days away from Canada’s Wonderland opening its doors for the season and there are a number of new things to look out for as you explore the park grounds. From food festivals to new offerings, new rides and construction changes, we’ve put together a breakdown of what you can expect.

Canada’s Wonderland opens its doors to all on May 3rd, 2024. If you’re eager to get your thrills on, tickets can be purchased ahead of time, along with this year’s season pass.

And believe us, you’ll want to plan your next Canada’s Wonderland trip ASAP.

“We want to provide a diverse range of experiences to our guests and make sure we’re offering plenty to see and do throughout the year,” said Phil Liggett, general manager.

“Beyond the roller coasters and thrill rides, we have our 20-acre water park, two children’s areas, world-class entertainment and four seasons of events. Whether you’re a thrill seeker or a parent with young kids, we’ve got something for everyone.”

What to eat?

Are you ready to get messy and eat some of the best creations Canada Wonderland has created to date? We sure are!

Get ready to check out the new Grande World Eatery opening this May. You can find global eats including Grilled Piri Piri Chicken, Moroccan Green Pea & Carrot Rice, Tofu in Ranchera Sauce, Plantain Tostones and Mango Pudding.

Next up is the International Festival where you’ll find the Grab and Go with Bowtie Pasta, Chickpea Quinoa Salad and Smoked Meat Sandwiches.

Apres Poutinerie is also located in this area and you can indulge in Double Bacon & Chorizo and Thai Green Vegetarian Curry. Don’t forget to get their Poutine and Mac n’ Cheese too.

Park up by the Frontier Canada section where you’ll get your hands on Roadside Chicken, fried chicken made in-house.

Frontier Canada also has Lazy Bear Lodge which added 16-hour Smoked Pulled Pork, Creamy Macaroni Salad and Campfire Ice Box S’Mores Parfait for dessert.

Make a pit stop at International Street’s La Cantina and try its new Walking Nachos with cilantro lime chicken or Tex-Mex beef.

Medieval Faire is a popular location in the park where you’ll find All’s Well Hall. Here, you can get delicious Stromboli with your option of Pesto Veggie, Chicken BBQ or Cup and Char Pepperoni.

There’s a new drink option guests can enjoy when visiting as well – the Summer Splash Pineapple Peach Bellini cider in partnership with Ernest Cider.

New rides

We’re always down to try something new and when that opportunity arises, we’re ready for it. And thankfully Canada’s Wonderland has something new up its sleeve and that’s its newest water park additon.

Moosehorn Falls will open for the first time at the water park this May. Splash Works opens May 25 and Moosehorn Falls, the giant boomerang water slide, will debut.

Festivals & Thrills

It’s the year of new things at Canada’s Wonderland! And we’re loving it. This 2024 season, guests will be treated to a few new experiences from food to festivals and annual events. Here’s the rundown:

• Celebration Canada from June 28th to July 7th. Celebrate Canada’s birthday with daily live music, authentic Canadian food and drink, street performers, and more. Don’t miss two nights of fireworks, June 30th and July 1st at 10 PM.
• Fireworks on May 19th, June 30th, July 1st, August 4th and September 1st
• Food & Wine Festival from June 7th to 23rd. “Indulge in local and international wine tastings and delectable food pairings, enjoy live entertainment and more,” shares the CW team.
• Oktoberfest from September 6th to 8th, September 13th to 15th and September 20th to 22nd. Enjoy German-themed food, drink specials and traditional festival bands in Medieval Faire. Chow down on classic sausage, schnitzel, Bavarian pretzels, and a tall stein of refreshing lager.

Other activities to look out for, especially for the young ones, include SickKids Day at Canada’s Wonderland, KidZ Fest, Camp Spooky, the return of the Cirque Ambiente in Canterbury Theatre, PEANUTS Block Party and the new Team Charlie Brown show at Playhouse Theatre.

Additional changes

As we shared back in March, the Canada’s Wonderland team got their hands dirty and began renovating the park grounds ahead of the spring season.

New changes include:

• New entrance underneath Leviathan; Guests will not enter through the plaza like usual
• The Wonderland store is being renovated and expanded
• Extreme Skyflyer has been removed after 26 years
• The Backlot Cafe is undergoing renovations and a makeover
• Viking’s Rage is going electrical this season
• There will be a new VIP lounge for prestige pass holders
• New changes to the Wonder Mountain area such as the removal of buildings in Alpen area
• Tiny Tom’s will be in a new location

Pricing

Enjoy your summers at Canada’s Wonderland! And if you plan to do that, we recommend getting a Season Pass. The regular tier is on sale now for $89.

The next tier up is the Gold Pass and that includes access to Halloween Haunt and Winterfest.

Daily tickets start at $44.99 so if you’d like to explore Canada’s Wonderland more than once this year, a season pass may offer more bang for your buck.
