West Seattle’s historic stone cottage has officially been saved!

We have some good news to help you start your week on a high note. You might remember but earlier this year Alki’s stone cottage was facing demolition and very limited time to save it. And now, the historic stone cottage has been saved.

Save the Stone Cottage announced yesterday that 360 donors came together to give the amount needed to move the cottage. And if you’re wondering, that amount came to over $60,000. So soon, the cottage will be moved a mile south to storage. However, that move won’t be so simple.

Regardless, the move will begin in April as soon as permits arrive. And with all this in mind, Save the Stone Cottage still needs another $60k to find the cottage a new home. So while it might seem like a lot of effort for one building, this cottage is truly a unique part of the city. And we can’t afford to lose any more of our cities iconic buildings.

If you’d like to learn more about Save the Stone Cottage or donate you can click here. And if you’d like to say goodbye to the cottage before it’s move, you should do it as soon as possible. But we are super happy that this home will be saved and we can’t wait to see where it ends up in the future.JTNDZGl2JTIwaWQlM0QlMjJtb2JpbGUtYWQtb25seSUyMiUzRSUwQSUzQyUyMS0tJTIwU2VhdHRsZSUyMC0lMjBNb2JpbGUlMjAtLSUzRSUwQSUzQ2lucyUyMGNsYXNzJTNEJTIyYWRzYnlnb29nbGUlMjIlMEElMjAlMjAlMjAlMjAlMjBzdHlsZSUzRCUyMmRpc3BsYXklM0FibG9jayUzQndpZHRoJTNBMzIwcHglM0JoZWlnaHQlM0E1MHB4JTNCJTIyJTBBJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwJTIwZGF0YS1hZC1jbGllbnQlM0QlMjJjYS1wdWItNTUyMTg1Njk1NTQ5NzQ1NiUyMiUwQSUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMCUyMGRhdGEtYWQtc2xvdCUzRCUyMjE2MjcxNzI5NDclMjIlM0UlM0MlMkZpbnMlM0UlMEElM0MlMkZkaXYlM0U=
