There are three types of people in the world. Those who just can’t take the heat, those who draw the line at habanero, and those who are absolutely insane… like Canadian Mike Jack, who just broke the Guinness World Record for “fastest time to eat three Carolina Reaper chilies.”
For those who have no idea why this is significant, it’s important to note that with a Scoville rating of 1,400,000 – 2,200,000, the Caroline Reaper is the hottest known-pepper in the entire world. For reference, a Jalapeno only comes in at somewhere between 2,500 – 8,000 units of heat, so this is absolutely insane.

In only 9.72 seconds, Mike went from normal Canuck, to ‘not of this world’. Of course, it’s not like it was easy.
In the video (which can be seen above) Mike Jack can be seen downing all 3 of these spicy boys, then nearly tossing his cookies in a bucket. So, disclaimer, guys!
We’re not sure what the aftermath was of this entire thing… hell, we’re not sure we want to know, but we can’t imagine it was pretty. Does he still have a stomach lining? Is he able to sit anymore? We can’t say… what we do know, is that no one under any circumstance should try this at home.
We’ll be thinking of you, Mike. You absolute mad man, you.
