This Ontario park is home to four warm & sandy beaches

It’s time to hit the beach and soak up all the sun you can this summer. And this Ontario park is the perfect place to do so! Voyageur Provincial Park is next on our Ontario road trip and here’s what to know.

Located minutes away from the Quebec border, about an hour east of Ottawa is Voyageur Provincial Park, the popular 3,600-acre park.

It rests along the banks of the Ottawa River and is home to over 400 seasonal campsites – Champlain, Iroquois, and Portage.

There are several recreational activities that you can do here, including biking, birding, boating, canoeing, and fishing.

You’ll also find two walking trails here; the Coureur des Bois Trail which guides you along terrestrial and aquatic habitats and a second trail that links Champlain Campground to the day-use area.

Whether you’re there for the day or on a camping adventure, you can enjoy a summer day at one of their four beaches.

According to Ontario Parks, the day-use picnic area has two beaches, another by Champlain Campground, and the fourth is shared between Iroquois and Portage.

The warm and sandy beaches all have a marked and buoyed swimming area.

Fee

According to Ontario Parks, the cost of a Day Use permit depends on the time of the year whether it be on or off-season, and by park.

Entry fees for vehicles start at $12.25, but for a full day at Voyageur Provincial Park the cost is $15.93 plus tax. For park-specific fees, contact the park directly.

Add this spot to your summer bucket list!
