A scenic sleeper train will take you across Canada this summer

If you’ve been meaning to see more of Canada, why not do so in just four days? The Canadian, Via Rail’s cross-country sleeper train, takes passengers from Toronto to Vancouver, with unbelievable views and plenty of amenities.

According to Via Rail, “On board the Canadian, you’ll have the chance to appreciate the diversity of the changing landscape as you travel across the country and to marvel at spectacular views.”

The train picks up passengers at Toronto’s Union Station, with the rest of the journey as follows:

  • Toronto to Sudbury Junction
  • Sudbury Junction to Sioux Lookout
  • Sioux Lookout to Winnipeg
  • Winnipeg to Saskatoon
  • Saskatoon to Edmonton
  • Edmonton to Jasper
  • Jasper to Kamloops
  • Kamloops to Vancouver

While aboard, you can enjoy the many seating and lounge areas, depending on which class you book. The classes range from Economy to Sleeper Plus to Prestige.

The Skyline car has a café-style dining area, a kitchen, a lounge, and a scenic dome section on the top floor, while the Park car features a lounge, non-alcoholic beverages, and snacks.

Prestige passengers have access to a private washroom with a shower, while Sleeper passengers have access to the common showers.

If you’re thirsty, the train even offers fun wine tastings, which is certainly one way to pass the time.

A full breakdown of what you get out of each class can be found on Via Rail’s online breakdown.

Book your ticket for this summer and get ready for an adventure of a lifetime.
