Looking for a dreamy getaway from the city? Vettä Nordic Spa is a peaceful oasis hidden in a picturesque valley just one hour north of Toronto.
This spa offers a traditional Finnish hydrotherapy circuit of heat, cold, and relaxation.
It is said to have one of the largest authentic wood-burning saunas in North America, plus all kinds of Finnish-inspired experiences to help you soak your stress away.
The property is nestled in the highlands of Horseshoe Valley, making you feel as if you’ve truly escaped from the city without having to travel too far.
The spa offers a complete hydrotherapy experience with steam rooms, saunas, warm pools, cold plunge pools, salt rubs, a hot stone room, multiple relaxation areas, and outdoor wood-burning fire pits.
There are 12 massage treatment rooms staffed with talented RMTs, where you can take your relaxation experience to the next level.
Talking is permitted in most areas of the spa, but there is an entire quiet area where you can enjoy the amenities in total silence.

When you’ve worked up an appetite, you will have multiple eateries to choose from.
The Kiovu Restaurant has two outdoor patios, the in-spa Savu Bistro overlooks the waterfall, and the grab-and-go coffee bar is a great spot for a light bite and pick-me-up.
With Vettä’s mission to “nurture and nourish the mind, body and spirit,” there is an added emphasis on the culinary experience offered.
The menu features “forest foraged delicacies including freshly-picked mushroom medleys, preserved berries, locally-sourced and ecologically-produced vegetables, responsibly raised grass-fed meats, and smoked and fresh fish.”
The natural surroundings are best enjoyed in the summer and fall, but it is equally as picturesque in the wintertime — plus, there’s nothing better than a sauna session on a cold day.
Advance bookings for the Vettä Nordic Spa are highly encouraged.
