Western Canada’s tallest Christmas tree will light up in Vancouver this year

Attention, Vancouver! One of the city’s peak holiday experiences is back and better than ever. Now in its 17th year, the Vancouver Christmas Tree Lighting will light a 76-foot-tall tree – the tallest Christmas tree in Western Canada.

In addition to watching the magic unfold, visitors will get to enjoy free hot chocolate, live music and entertainment, and meet Santa at the event.

Presented by Amacon and hosted by Fred Lee, the lighting continues to be one of the largest community holiday events in downtown Vancouver, attracting thousands of visitors from far and wide every year.

Whether you’re looking for a festive activity to partake in after work, a cute date idea, or want to snap a family pic as the tree lights up for the first time this year, you’ve got plenty of reasons to stop by šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square.

The 17th annual Vancouver Christmas Tree Lighting will take place on Friday, December 1st at the Vancouver Art Gallery (šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square).
